Custom Glass Railings in Northern Virginia

Serving Northern Virginia since 1997 · Virginia Class A Glass & Glazing Contractor

Glass railings for staircases, lofts, decks and terraces, plus glass pool fences, measured on site and installed by our in-house crews. Choose a base shoe, spigot or standoff system.

Interior Glass Railings

A glass railing keeps a staircase or loft open and bright, so light moves freely between floors. We fit glass to your stairs, landings and stair openings, and along lofts and interior balconies that overlook a room. Every panel is measured on site to follow the lines of your stairs and floor.

Exterior Glass Railings

Outside, a glass railing keeps the view open from your deck, terrace or entry steps, and a glass pool fence keeps the pool in sight. We measure the edges and steps on site and install glass panels that follow the layout of your outdoor space.

  • Decks and raised patios
  • Terraces and rooftop decks
  • Entry steps and outdoor stairs
  • Glass pool fences and gates

Glass Railing Systems

There are three ways to hold the glass. When we measure, we recommend the system that suits your stairs, floor or deck.

Base Shoe

The glass sits in a continuous metal channel fixed to the floor, stair or deck edge, for a clean, unbroken line of glass.

Spigot

The glass is held at the base by short metal clamps, called spigots, fixed to the floor, deck or patio. Spigots are also used for glass pool fences.

Standoff

The glass is fixed to the side of the stairs or floor edge with round metal standoffs, keeping the walking surface clear.

Top Rails, Handrails and Lighting

Leave the top edge of the glass clear, or add a metal top rail. On stairs we can add a metal handrail, and a base shoe can be lighted.

  • Glass with no top rail
  • Metal cap rail or top rail
  • Metal handrail
  • Lighted base shoe
