Frameless Shower Doors and Enclosures in Arlington, VA

5.0 ★ · 284 Google reviews · Family owned since 1997 · Installed by our own crews · Virginia Class A Glass & Glazing Contractor

Custom frameless and sliding shower glass for Arlington homes, condos and townhouses — measured, fabricated and installed by our own crews.

Shower Glass for Arlington Homes

Arlington has a mix of condominiums and apartments, townhouses, older single-family houses and new construction, and the bathrooms differ just as much — from compact baths where every inch of clearance matters to larger primary baths with room for a full enclosure. Whatever the space, we measure the opening on site, check what the installation will need and fabricate the glass to fit. We work with homeowners, contractors, builders and interior designers, and tailor each enclosure to your style and the way you use the space. In condominium buildings, we coordinate with building management on the certificate of insurance and a reserved service elevator; access and scheduling follow the building’s rules.

Where We Work in Arlington

We measure and install throughout Arlington County, in North and South Arlington — including Rosslyn, Clarendon, Ballston, Crystal City, Pentagon City, Shirlington, Westover, Lyon Park and Cherrydale. The consultation, the measurement and the installation all happen at your home.

Nearby, we also serve Alexandria, Washington, DC and the rest of Northern Virginia. See all of our shower doors and service areas.

Compact Bathrooms and Tight Clearances

In a smaller bathroom, a standard swing door can hit the vanity, the toilet or the doorway. We check the clearances when we measure and recommend what fits the room.

  • Sliding and bypass doors — the door travels along a track instead of swinging out, so no swing space is needed in front of the shower.
  • Fixed panels and walk-in screens — a single fixed panel or an open walk-in layout has no door to clear at all.
  • Choosing the hinge side — on a swing door, the hinge side and swing direction can be chosen so the door opens where there is room.

Not every layout suits every room, and some openings need preparation before installation. We tell you what will work, and what is needed, when we measure.

Frameless Shower Doors

Heavy 3/8″ or 1/2″ tempered glass held by hinges and clamps instead of a metal frame — inline door-and-panel, corner, neo-angle and door-with-return layouts, plus curbless openings. Choose the glass, the hardware style and the finish to match the rest of the bathroom.

Sliding and Barn-Style Shower Doors

A top-rolling barn-style slider or a bypass system saves the swing space a hinged door needs, so it works where a door would hit a vanity or a toilet. Sliders suit bathtubs as well as shower stalls, with the same glass choices and hardware finishes as our swing doors.

Steam Shower Enclosures

Steam enclosures take the glass to the ceiling or close it with a fixed transom, with a steam-rated door, the right seals and sweep, and a vent or operable transom. If you are building or remodeling, bring us in while the framing is still open — header support and ceiling details are easier to plan then.

Shower Screens, Tub Screens and Splash Panels

Not every opening needs a door. A fixed shower screen or splash panel keeps water off the floor in a walk-in shower, and a hinged or fixed tub screen replaces a shower curtain over a tub.

Glass, Hardware and Treatments

Clear glass compared with low-iron glass

Glass Options

Clear tempered glass is the most popular choice. Low-iron (ultra-clear) glass removes the faint green cast of standard glass. Frosted (acid-etched), textured and patterned glass add privacy where a shower faces a window or a shared space.

Hardware Options

Handles, knobs, towel bars, hinges, clamps, channels, headers and sliding track. Finishes include chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, satin brass, polished nickel, bronze, antique brass and polished copper.

Glass Treatments

EnduroShield is a protective coating applied to the glass that makes water spots and soap film easier to clean off, and it carries a 10-year warranty. It can be added to any enclosure we install and is worth considering on hard water.

Replacing an Old Shower Door

If your bathroom still has an older framed or sliding door, new custom glass can usually be fitted to the existing opening when the tile and curb are sound. Removing and hauling away your old enclosure is included when we install the replacement.

Why Arlington Homeowners Choose Modern Glass

We work throughout Arlington and the rest of Northern Virginia, and we also install in Washington, DC and Montgomery County, MD. Every opening is measured on site and the glass is fabricated to fit it.

How the Process Works

1. Schedule a consultation
Tell us about the opening. We book a visit that suits you.

2. Field measurement
We measure the actual opening on site and check it for plumb and square.

3. Select glass and hardware
Choose thickness, glass type, hardware style and finish.

4. Fabrication
Your glass is cut, tempered and prepared to your measurements.

5. Professional installation
Our own crew installs and seals the enclosure, typically 7–10 business days after measurement.

For Contractors, Builders and Designers

If you are building or remodeling for a client, we measure once the tile and curb are finished and coordinate the glass, hardware and finishes with your design. Our information for contractors covers installation guidelines, technical details and how to prepare an opening for frameless glass, and our shower design tips cover layout, space-saving and finish ideas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We measure and install throughout Arlington County, in North and South Arlington. If you are not sure we cover your street, call us and ask.

We check the clearances when we measure. Depending on the room, a sliding or bypass door, a fixed panel, or a swing door hinged on the other side may fit better, and we will tell you what works.

Yes. When the tile and curb are sound, we can usually fit new custom glass to the existing opening. Removing and hauling away the old enclosure is included when we install the replacement.

Yes, we replace individual broken shower-glass panels. We need to see the enclosure first to confirm the opening and hardware can take a new panel.

Typically 7–10 business days after measurement. Unusual configurations, specialty glass and custom hardware finishes can take longer, and we confirm the timing with you when we measure.

Price depends on the size of the opening, the glass thickness, the configuration and the hardware you choose. A single fixed panel is the least expensive option; a large multi-panel enclosure with heavy hardware and low-iron glass is the most. We quote after measuring, so the number you get is for your actual opening rather than an estimate that changes later. The consultation and the measurement are free.

3/8″ and 1/2″ tempered glass for frameless work. Thickness is chosen from the panel size and the configuration — taller and wider panels generally need 1/2″. All shower glass we install is tempered safety glass.

Our own employees. We do not subcontract the measure or the installation — the glass is fabricated to the measurements our crew takes on site, and the same company fits it.

We do not pull permits. If your project needs one, it is the homeowner’s or general contractor’s responsibility.

We needed a basic frameless shower door in a small bathroom. The entire process took less than 2 weeks from estimate to installation. The estimator arrived on time as did the installers, who were also very efficient in completing the job. Very impressed!
